Otto's Daughter Bio

Bringing together a unique blend of electro pop and metal, Otto’s Daughter has created an exciting sound that brings together beauty and edginess. Fans have described them as a female fronted band with balls, which is both heavy enough for the metalheads and pop enough for the club going crowd.

Songstress Jacqueline van Bierk mesmerizes crowds with her strong stage persona, delivering her powerful yet sultry vocals, which has won over audiences everywhere. She is a true performer full of aggression, passion and theatrics. Add guitarist Jim Robbins’ edgy guitar sounds into the mix, Otto’s Daughter puts on an energetic, powerful and entertaining live show that has won over fans everywhere.

The band’s origins begin in New York City, where European transplant Jacqueline started the band and planting the seeds into creating her vision. She immediately cut her teeth within the local goth/industrial scene and made her presence felt immediately. She put on in your face performances, which featured theatrics leaving behind a mess of broken baby dolls, roses, blood and glitter. Her shows definitely left a lasting impression and separated herself from the pack.

Shortly after, Jim entered the picture. Coming out of the New York hardcore scene, Jacqueline had found her perfect collaborator, merging both of their styles and creating the perfect balance between dark and light, yet heavy and pop music. His heavy guitar tones brought a new dimension into Otto’s Daughter that added aggression, which was previously missing.

The band currently resides in Los Angeles, and has done several DIY tours across the US and is planning on hitting the road again in spring 2012. While the public has bombarded Otto’s Daughter with a variety of questions about their overall presence, still the two most asked questions on every OD tour have been…”Are those boobs real?” and “What label are you on?”

The last EP, “The Becoming 001”, has had several placements on MTV, VH1, CW Network (Vampire Diaries, Melrose Place, 90210, Gossip Girl promo’s) History Channel and Discovery Channel.

Otto’s Daughter has won various awards for “Best Hollywood Band”, “Best Female Fronted” and “Best Female Performer” at the LA Rockies and was also one of the top 100 best unsigned bands in Music Connection magazine.

The duo is currently in the studio finishing up their new full length titled “Living The Dream” due in early 2012. The first two singles “BeautyFool” and “Prison Walls” have been released online and are available on Itunes.

Outside of the band, Jacqueline also composes music for film and television, where her work has been featured on Oprah, Dr. Oz, Spike TV and many more.

While it has been a bumpy ride, with several line-up changes and many obstacles to overcome, Otto’s Daughter is excited about the new album, a new line-up, ready to hit the road in spring 2012. The first show will be at NAMM playing the Schecter Opening Party at the Juke Joint in Anaheim, CA on Friday, January 20th.

Dirge Within Bio

Making a dent onto a competitive heavy music scene, Dirge Within quickly made a name for themselves through extensive touring and earning rave reviews from the press and public alike. Appearing with such acts as Trivium, Fear Factory, Static X, Devildriver, Whitechapel, Winds of Plague, GWAR, and Nonpoint, they have shown their versatility through playing in front of a variety of crowds and holding their own.

Following up their highly acclaimed debut release, ‘Force Fed Lies,’ Dirge Within issued a three song EP titled ‘Absolution 2011 EP’ (out August 16, 2011) living a taste of what’s to come from their forthcoming sophomore release due out in early 2012.

‘Absolution 2011 EP’ showcases what fans of Dirge Within have grown familiar with - powerful grooves, strong hooks and punishing guitar riffs the band has built its sound around. ‘Absolution’ and ‘Prey’ bring a sound that fans are familiar with, while showing progression overall in their sound and songwriting, while ‘All Light Fades’ takes their sound up a few notches in intensity and edginess alike.

" 'Absolution' is just the beginning. We've been working hard writing new songs for our sophomore album, and we were so pumped about these tracks that we HAD to share a few of them with our fans,” said vocalist Jeremy ‘Jerms’ Genske. 'Force Fed Lies' was the blueprint, but we as a band are trying to take everything to the next level, in every aspect. This EP is just a sampling of what's to come in very early 2012 - the alarm before the hurricane. "

The EP was produced by the band and Scott Creekmore at Mercenary Digital Studios in Zion, Illinois, and was mixed by Jason Suecof (August Burns Red, Death Angel, All That Remains) @ Audio Hammer Studios in Orlando, Florida.

Forming in January 2007, the band was formed by guitarist Shaun Glass and Genske, recording a three song demo at Mercenary Studios in Zion, Illnois, including “Forever the Martyr”, “Complacency Strain”, and “Ties that Bind” (which later were re-recorded for ‘Force Fed Lies’). Guitarist Matt Szlachta and drummer Frankie Harchut were later brought into the band, and then played their first show at the Rave in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in July 2007. Immediately making an impact within the Midwestern metal scene, they attracted attention through their hard driving yet melodic metal style.

They have appeared as the Jagermeister band on the 2009 Rockstar Mayhem Fest date in Chicago, Illinois, as well as opening for Korn’s Ballroom Blitz tour stop in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2010.

‘Force Fed Lies’ drew rave reviews within Revolver Magazine, Rocksound and Metal Hammer (UK) Magazine, as well as been on regular rotation on Sirius XM and various hard music radio outlets.

Sex Slaves Press Release

For Immediate Release: NYC Rock Trio Sex Slaves Recording New Album with Producer Ulrich Wild in Los Angeles

N.Y.C. rock trio, SEX SLAVES, is currently recording their third, yet-to-be-titled full length album at The Wilderness in Los Angeles, CA with veteran producer/engineer Ulrich Wild (Pantera, Dethklok, Static X). The follow-up to 2009’s ‘Wasted Angel’. Wild’s work with bands like Pantera, White Zombie, Dethklok, Static-X, Deftones and Australian up-and-comers Dangerous made him an obvious choice for the band: “Ulrich wears a lot of different hats sonically, but his feel and energy shine through on every record he makes. We wanted him to bring that energy out in us.”

Wild is equally excited about working with SEX SLAVES: “I’ve wanted to get these guys in the studio since I saw them live in 2008. Good tunes and bad attitude can make a great record, and this one is a delicious, rowdy mess.”

Performing over 1,000 shows in over 18 countries since 2005 with Nashville Pussy, Nothingface, The Genitorturers and Wednesday 13, the SEX SLAVES has drawn rave reviews from the public and press alike. Already heard on MTV’s The Real World and New York Ink, their blue collar rock sound is taking the world by storm.

Their Lower East side of New York City origins is felt all over their music. Classic Rock Magazine described SEX SLAVES as “sledgehammer heavy and slithery as a politician, but it’s also got epic, arena-rattling songs that’ll sit happily in your gut for hours, like slow-burning bourbon.”

SEX SLAVES plan to continue doing what they do best - touring heavily throughout North America and Europe with their forthcoming, third full-length release, still untitled. “It takes a guerilla mentality to survive in music today. We have the cycle down: write, record, tour your ass off, tour some more, tour even more, then start writing again. There are no handouts.”

The band plans to wrap up recording in mid-August. They are currently seeking a new label after parting ways with Level 7 Records. There is no release date for their “The Wilderness.”
